Auditions for Almost Maine at the Greenbelt Arts Center, Oct 16 & 17
Greenbelt Arts Center announces auditions for:
Directed by Bob Kleinberg
October 16 & 17, 2017.
Auditions for Almost, Maine to be performed at the Greenbelt Arts Center in January/ February 2018, will be held at the Greenbelt Community Center in Room 114, on October 16 and 17 at 7pm, with callbacks if necessary on October 19.
Performances are scheduled to run January 26 – February 17, 2018.
Location: Greenbelt Arts Center
On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. In this whimsical approach to the joys and perils of romance, knees are bruised, hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend – almost – in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
Almost, Maine is comprised of 8 vignettes about love and the various emotions that can accompany it. These vignettes involve the various townspeople of the imaginary town of Almost, Maine, located in the wide open spaces of northern Maine, near Canada.
There are no specific characters to describe. This is an ensemble cast, and each cast member will play at least two separate roles. No accents please.
We are looking for 4 men and 4 women in their 30’s and 40’s to play the townspeople of Almost, Maine. Note: All roles are non-union and unpaid.
The show will be performed 4 weekends from January 26 – February 17, Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sunday matinees at 2PM at the Greenbelt Arts Center.
For more information, please contact director Bob Kleinberg at email@example.com, or see http://www.greenbeltartscenter.org/Default.asp#audition

When the creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop assemble for a backer’s audition for a new musical on a suburban estate, things turn deadly with plenty of confusing murders and knotty plots to unravel in John Bishop’s comedic thriller. This ingenious and wildly comic romp spoofs the great murder mystery movies of the 1940s, leaving the audience to wonder, whodunit?
We welcome non-traditional casting – all roles are open to all races and ethnic diversities (unless specifically noted in the character description).
Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays beginning in November, with the exception of the final week of tech, for which all will be called nearly every night of the week. If you have any questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are auditioning…
-Please bring a theatrical resume and headshot (professional quality not necessary) or recent face picture for the casting team.
-Bring a written list of any and all remotely possible conflicts between November 2017 and February 2018.

Auditions for Frankenstein by the Bowie Community Theatre, Nov 6 & 7
Bowie Community Theatre announces auditions for “Frankenstein” adapted from novel by Mary Shelley and directed by Brian Douglas. Auditions will be held on Monday, November 6, and Tuesday, November 7, from 7:00pm – 9:30pm at the Bowie Playhouse, 16500 White Marsh Park Dr. in Bowie MD.
Auditions November 6 & 7, 2017.
NOTICE: This production contains scenes which simulate intense violence and death, with victims that include women, a young boy, and a dog. Please give due consideration to this before agreeing to participate.
Performances March 9 – 25, 2018.
Set in nineteenth-century Switzerland, this classic tale of horror and suspense details the ill-fated experiments of young Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to fathom the secrets of life and death. Purchasing cadavers from two unsavory grave robbers, he gives life to a creature both hideous and touching—and so physically powerful and mentally twisted that he soon brings death or destruction to all who stand in his way. Adhering more closely to the original novel than did the famous motion picture versions, the play blends moments of brooding terror and sudden shock with questions of morality and the dangers of unrestrained scientific inquiry.
Actors will be grouped together and will read from sides. No monologue is required, but if you wish to do one, please keep it under two minutes. A headshot and resume are helpful but not required. Everyone’s photo will be taken at the audition. Please come prepared with a list of ALL possible conflicts between 11/13/2017 and 3/7/2018, including Christmas and other holidays. We must schedule rehearsals during a very busy time of year. Actors must be available for all performances. The play runs weekends from March 9 through March 25. Please contact the director at email@example.com for further questions.

A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, singing along, and guessing to the very end!
