Known for its comfortable, inviting space and great acoustics, the Publick Playhouse is one of the best performing arts venues in the greater Washington, DC area. Conveniently located less than half a mile from the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, and close to I-495, the Playhouse serves as a popular venue for music and modern dance, musical theater, historical drama, educational programs and monthly events for seniors. Mother Bear and Baby Bear set out on a picnic and meet all kinds of unexpected friends and foes. Crazy dancing frogs Fred and Ginger, Quincy the Caterpillar (who meets himself coming and going), and Artie the Ant (who almost ruins the picnic) are just a few of the delightful puppet pals in this enchanting show.

With powerful stories and transformative songs, “Daughter Of The Struggle” is an intimate journey into the life of the legendary Dick Gregory and the family that loves him. This autobiographical performance reveals Ayanna Gregory’s multi-dimensional existence as a daughter of the Civil Rights Movement.

Ayanna chronicles important and historical events throughout her father’s life of fame and human rights activism from a daughter’s perspective. As one of 10 children, Ayanna continues her family legacy and finds her own voice as an agent of change in the world.
