Known for its comfortable, inviting space and great acoustics, the Publick Playhouse is one of the best performing arts venues in the greater Washington, DC area. Conveniently located less than half a mile from the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, and close to I-495, the Playhouse serves as a popular venue for music and modern dance, musical theater, historical drama, educational programs and monthly events for seniors. Maximus Mars has crash-landed on a foreign planet and must work to stop the bullying residents from destroying his ship. When he begins receiving messages on his communication device, he turns to the audience who helps him put an end to the cyber-bullying.

In The Land Before Kind, Bullysaurus Rex is doing everything he can to stop the other dinosaurs from accepting and being kind to the new dinosaur on the block – Terri Dactyl. You’ll roll with delight and have a dino-mite time as these young dinos learn how to end bullying when they see it, how to stop someone from bullying, and teach Bullysaurus how to be kind.

Rescued from thrift shops and garage sales, these charming group puppets were given a new lease on life when Bob Brown transformed them from cast off toys into lovable puppet friends. Goonie Bird Gertrude, tap dancing bugs Bingo and Bob, and Snirdley and his Scooter are just a few of the recycled pals in this performance that is so much more than a puppet show.

The spirit of the most wonderful time of year is overflowing in this hysterical Christmas-wrapped comedy packed with sing-along holiday songs. Two zany and lovable elves, Scrunchie and Bangles, have accidentally misplaced some of Santa’s presents. When Santa finds out, he teaches the well-meaning elves that the real gift of the season are the people and friends we celebrate it with.

Perhaps the best loved holiday story of all time, this adaptation of Dickens’ classic is particularly suited to children. Watch Mr. Scrooge’s stone-cold heart change to gold as he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas. All the joy, sentiment and meaning are here, without being too scary for young audiences.

A Beatrix Potter Christmas: “The Tailor of Gloucester”

When the mayor orders a cherry-colored coat for his Christmas wedding, the poor Tailor of Gloucester works his fingers to the bone. All goes well until the tailor realizes he lacks the piece of twisted silk needed to sew on the final button. But it is Christmas Eve, that one blessed night when animals are granted the gift of speech. Simpkin the cat and the house mice become steadfast friends and work together to complete a coat that leaves the bedazzled Mayor—and them—speechless for a miraculously happy ending on Christmas Day.
