2020 Camp Encore presents Pericles, Prince of Tyre at the Greenbelt Arts Center, July 15-16, 2020
PERICLES, Prince Of Tyre
“Tis time to fear when tyrants seem to kiss.”
By William Shakespeare
Join director Kate Magill Robinson and the Camp Encore troupe leaders for an epic literary sea voyage as they stage Shakespeare’s first romance play, Pericles. Perilous circumstances force young Prince Pericles to become a refugee. One adventure follows another as the wandering prince seeks to return home and be reunited with his family. Rarely performed, this play is Shakespeare’s hidden treasure, filled with miracles, music and mystery — and a cast of extraordinarily colorful characters. Camp Encore’s production will offer young actors a chance to sail the Mediterranean and explore the mysteries and enchantments of the ancient world —all without leaving Greenbelt. At the end of the camp session, campers will present performances at the Greenbelt Arts Center. The performance schedule includes an evening performance on Thursday, July 16, at 7:00pm.
PERFORMANCES: Wednesday, July 15 at 1:00pm and Thursday, July 16 at 4:00pm and 7:00pm.
