Missoula Children’s Theatre provides two professional tour actor/directors who will audition and cast 50-60 local elementary school students in a full-length, original musical production of The Snow Queen. Children must be at the John Addison Concert Hall by 4:30pm. Latecomers will not be admitted. Please wear comfortable clothing. All materials for song and movement auditions will be provided.

We arrive on Robinson’s island years after he and his sole companion, a goat named Wilson, are shipwrecked. We find that the island has turned into a tourist destination centered around a lovable singing leopard, a tribe of natives known for their colorful coifs, Friday’s Seaside Resort and, of course, the legend of Robinson Crusoe. In a flashback, his story comes to life beginning with the shipwreck, which marooned him and Wilson on the island.

The entire population of the island, including a herd of goats, an all-animal band, Friday and his family, and the inevitable hula-dancing chameleons, discover that our differences need not stand in the way of our friendships. All of the characters live happily and harmoniously ever after.

It’s 1939 and Hollywood is abuzz. Legendary producer David O. Selznick has shut down production of his new epic, Gone with the Wind, a film adaptation of Margaret Mitchell’s novel. The screenplay, you see, just doesn’t work. So what’s an all-powerful movie mogul to do? While fending off the film’s stars, gossip columnists and his own father-in-law, Selznick sends a car for famed screenwriter Ben Hecht and pulls formidable director Victor Fleming from the set of The Wizard of Oz. Summoning both to his office, he locks the doors, closes the shades, and on a diet of bananas and peanuts, the three men labor over five days to fashion a screenplay that will become the blueprint for one of the most successful and beloved films of all time.
