Musical Theater Dance Camp for Adults

College Park Arts Exchange
At the Old Parish House, 4711 Knox Road, College Park MD.
Mon thru Thurs, July 20-23, 2015, 9:30am to Noon each day.
Performance on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 7pm.

Cost for the camp: $125; please register in advance.

Learn fun, professional choreography in an intensive setting with award-winning Chicago choreographer Samantha Fitschen (lately of New Chicago Dance Studio). Fun for all skill levels! We will be learning a dance number from the Tony-winning musical,”On The Town.” Please wear comfortable clothes, and gym shoes/jazz shoes/or jazz sneakers. Also bring a towel, water bottle, and yoga mat.

Children’s Summer Musical

Join directors Laura Lising and Allison Hughes for a fun community youth production of Bedknobs and Broomsticks. No auditions, no experience required. There is a part for everyone – from chorus members to solo singers. Everyone will get to be part of something very special!

Ages 4 to 14

Location: College Park Arts Exchange

Deadline for registration – Sunday June 28th. Register here.

**Rehearsals –All rehearsals will be held at St. Andrew’s Church in the Parish Hall, 4512 College Avenue, College Park, MD.
Sunday afternoons from 3 to 5pm (July 12, 19 and 26)
Tuesday afternoons from 4 to 6pm (July 14, 21 and 28)
Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8pm (July 15, 22 and 29)
You won’t have to come to every rehearsal – we will make a schedule for when each scene meets.

**Performances
Friday, July 31st at 7:00pm and Saturday, August 1st at 4:00pm at the St Andrew’s Parish Hall.
Call time for performers will be 5:00 on Friday and 3:00pm on Saturday.
Cast party following the show on Saturday.

**Cost: $45 per performer. Checks payable to CPAE due at the first rehearsal. Sliding scale available, please email Allison or Laura for more info.

Audition Preparation:
-Please prepare 16-32 bars of a Broadway style song and bring sheet music or CD/iPod accompaniment track.
-Cold Readings from the script
-Movement exercises as a group (not dancing)
-List of Conflicts through November
-Resume/Head shot (or photo to be turned in with Resume)

Also, anyone who want to be involved in costuming, light/sound operation, stage managers, set construction and design, and publicity. should come on auditions dates with resume.

Bowie Community Theatre Announces Auditions for Whose Wives Are They Anyway? by Michael Parker

Synopsis: David McGrachen and John Baker have planned a weekend off before their new C.E.O. arrives on Monday. With their wives safely off on a shopping spree in NYC, they check into The Oakfield Golf and Country Club intending to “golf their brains out.” They unexpectedly encounter their new boss, and she insists on meeting the wives, commenting blithely “no one who went golfing for a weekend without his wife would ever work for me”. So…David and John have to produce wives. Inevitably, everything goes wrong as John and David attempt to “pull the wool” over the new boss’ eyes—literally!
