Started in 2014, Clarice Presents’ annual NextNOW Fest is an inspiring arts experience that celebrates imagination, creativity and community. In addition to the core festival nights at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, we’re thrilled to continue partnerships with student-led groups, academic departments and university-based arts venues to hold festival events throughout campus.

NextNOW Fest is a signature event in University of Maryland’s Arts for All initiative, which leverages the combined power of the arts, technology and social justice to address the grand challenges of our time.

at the Goddard Visitor’s Center

Location: Goddard Space Flight Center’s MAD Theater.

MAD presents Auditions, Affairs, and Aliens. The result of MAD’s Spring Workshops will be two nights of music and drama on June 14 and 15, 7:30, at the Goddard Visitor Center. One of the club’s main purposes is to foster and develop new talent in the performing arts. These workshops focus on this in particular, giving singers, actors, directors, and playwrights a unique venue to work on their crafts. Come and join us for this presentation entitled “Auditions, Affairs, and Aliens.” Since the Visitor Center is outside the main gate, no badges are necessary. Buy tickets in advance ($9 adults, or $5 children, students and interns) at https://madtheater.org/tickets, or at the door ($15 or $10). Join Club Joe’s on a journey through time with this year’s showcase, Joestalgia: A Trip Down Memory Lane. Follow our young stars as they tell artistic stories through movement, music, acting, and more. Tap into the warm, fuzzy feeling of nostalgia with moves from past decades and memories from vintage Club Joe’s!

Ampl!fy is a curated open mic that mimics a professional showcase. Each month’s show has a theme inspired by social issues, pop culture, and more. Ampl!fy will take place every last Friday of the month from October 2023 to May 2024 (see exceptions* in the schedule below). Performances will take place in Joe’s theater. Ampl!fy will be promoted via Joe’s Instagram, Facebook, and weekly E-newsletter.
