“Romeo and Juliet: an Urban Love Musical” is an urban adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. This modern twist to a classic tale of “love at first sight” is written by proud graduates of Prince George’s County Public Schools: Eleanor Roosevelt High School Graduate, Shanelle Ingram (Producer/Director); and Charles Herbert Flowers Graduates: Akeira Cramer (2011), Rashaud Matthews (2013), Raenetta Robinson (2013), and Kierra Snowden (2011). Asia Williams (2013) joins the production as one of its talented choreographers.

Set in modern-day Washington D.C., the District’s two feuding families—The Capulets & Montagues—have been fighting for decades. Despite the confusion and chaos of their upbringing, Romeo and Juliet find one another and fall deeply in love. However, unlike the original Shakespeare classic, this show doesn’t end in “woe”! Follow the “two star-crossed lovers” and their families and friends on their journey to love, peace, and unity! “Romeo and Juliet: an Urban Love Musical” looks at love and its positive effects on mankind. Laugh and cry at the joy and despairs of young love! Through song, dance and verse, the Jaguar Players are sure to mesmerize young and old audiences alike! Because “there’ll never be” another love like~~~ Romeo and Juliet!

Tickets: $10. VIP preferred seating: $15.
