THE STORY: A sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice set two years after the novel ends, MISS BENNET continues the story, only this time with bookish middle-sister Mary as its unlikely heroine. Mary is growing tired of her role as dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings’ romantic escapades. When the family gathers for Christmas at Pemberley, an unexpected guest sparks Mary’s hopes for independence, an intellectual match, and possibly even love.

Maryland Ghostlight Co. is excited to announce “Sleeping Giant: A Haunting Vignette Show.” Written by Steve Yockey, Sleeping Giant is a haunting dark comedy set in the backdrop of a quiet small town. When an ancient beast is awakened, its residents must deal with strange occurrences — and the meaning of their own lives.

Maryland Ghostlight Company is a student-led theater club dedicated to straight plays. This will be the company’s fifth production.

UMD Choral Activities rings in the holidays with its Festival of Lessons and Carols, a tradition now in its 24th year. Choirs, brass quintet and organ combine to perform carols, hymns and spoken word that epitomize hope and bring the joy of the season to life. This event takes place at the UMD Memorial Chapel.
