Story of the play: Based upon an African-American family’s dreams and experiences in the Washington Park Subdivision of Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood. It chronicles their plight as they strive to emerge from the life they currently lead to a better status. This plight encompasses dreams accomplished and dreams deferred, racial discrimination inside and outside of the African American race, the importance of love and family and growth both internal and external. This play is the backdrop to what happens next once the Younger’s move out of their current home into the play’s sequel, Clybourne Park, which just closed at GAC.

PARENTAL WARNING: Parents strongly cautioned, due to language and stage gore. This musical is not appropriate for children.

Based on the cult classic movie “Evil Dead”, which tells the story of five friends who take a vacation to a cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an army of zombies who start turning them all into demons. But it’s a musical, so there’s singing and dancing.

The “Splatter Zone” is a specially-priced seating area, right up front, where you can sit to feel the blood of the undead spray as Ash takes them on in battle.

With Steven Baird, Michael Brick, Winard Britt, Shammara Clarkson, David Colton, Heather Harris, Laura Kavinski, Shannon Riley, and Stephen Yednock.

Ticket prices: $30 Splatter Zone, $22 General Admission, $18 Students/Seniors/Military, $14 Youth (12 and under with adult)

July 20 to August 14, 2015, from 8:45am to 3:30pm.

Our 2014 Greenbelt Youth Circus production, Game On!, was a smash hit! Now, join us in 2015 as we present our next full-length youth circus show: Time Warp. It’s a circus trip through history that you’ll never forget! Under the direction of Greg May, campers will develop, rehearse, and perform in this one-of-a-kind youth circus production. Students under age 9 admitted with Director’s approval. Contact: Greg May at gregorymay@verizon.net.

Scheduling notes: Please note that the four performances take place on evenings and weekend days, not during the regular camp hours and days. Attendance in the final week and at all four performances is mandatory to enroll in the Greenbelt Youth Circus. Campers with limited absences in the first weeks may enroll, but their participation in the shows may be limited. Previous circus camp experience is not required, but new campers especially should commit to daily attendance all four weeks. SUMMER CIRCUS CAMP Ages 8-13, 3 sessions, June 22 – August 21, 2015

Join former Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus performer Greg May for a fun-filled session of circus skills training. Learn juggling, stilt-walking, unicycling, balance boards, rolling globe, partner acrobatics, clown gags, and single-point and fabric trapeze.
The development of circus skills translates into immediate life advantages: balance, hand-eye coordination, public presentation, teamwork, creativity, and how to slip on a banana peel without getting hurt! Campers are safely taught at their individual skill levels. On the last day of each camp session, campers will demonstrate their new skills in a show for parents and other guests.
