In search of two female actresses. Callbacks (if needed) will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Bring a headshot, resume and list of conflicts through July 16.

Over the course of a 90-minute parent/teacher conference, a grieving mother and an emotionally overwhelmed primary school teacher have a fraught conversation about the tragic suicide of the mother’s son, the teacher’s student, Gidion. Gidion may have been bullied severely– or he may have been an abuser. As his story is slowly uncovered, the women try to reconstruct a satisfying explanation for Gidion’s act and come to terms with excruciating feelings of culpability.

When a house party gathers at Gull’s Point, the seaside home of Lady Tressilian, Neville Strange finds himself caught between his old wife Audrey and his new flame Kay. A nail-biting thriller, the play probes the psychology of jealousy in the shadow of a savage and brutal murder. A carefully unpeeled investigation before our eyes brings the story to a pointed ending.

Girls of the Garden Club at Laurel Mill Playhouse, Sep 13-Oct 6

Girls of the Garden Club at Laurel Mill Playhouse, Sep 13-Oct 6

Laurel Mill Playhouse presents
Girls of the Garden Club
by John Patrick
Directed by Larry Simmons
Produced by Maureen Rogers

Friday September 13, 2019 through Sunday October 6, 2019
Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8pm.

Location: Laurel Mill Playhouse

Rhoda Greenleaf (Sam David) is devoted to gardening and wants to land the presidency of the local garden club. Standing in her way is the incumbent, Lillybelle (Barbara Gasper), who peppers her speech with French phrases and is a general pain in the neck. Despite help from other club members, Rhoda’s effort to oust her is stalled, until her daughter’s boyfriend (Zach Polignone)) comes up with a novel idea — a talking plant!

A hilarious new play which, as the title suggests, deals with the indomitable ladies whose lives revolve around the often outlandish doings of the local garden club. “GIRLS is a delight because it reflects reality. For every comic characterization onstage you can recall someone in your own life as a douoffstage.” — Chronicle-Telegram.

Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service. Performances run weekends from Friday September 13, 2019 through Sunday October 6, 2019 with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admission. Admission for students (12 and under), active duty military and seniors (65 and over) is $15. Tickets can be purchased by clicking the link below. For further information, please call 301-617-9906 and press 2, or contact Maureen Rogers at maureencrogers@gmail.com or 301-452-2557.
