Death Takes a Holiday at Laurel Mill Playhouse, Nov 7-23

Friday November 7, 2014 through Sunday November 23, 2014
Death Takes a Holiday
by Walter Ferris
Directed by Mark T. Allen
Produced by Maureen C. Rogers

Location: Laurel Mill Playhouse

This striking drama is based on the poetic conception of death suspending all activities for three days during which he falls in love with a beautiful girl and through her realizes why mortals fear him. The character who symbolizes Death is a very human person, with no conventional claptrap dragged in for mere effect. Here is a play that stimulates discussion and presents a novel and optimistic philosophy of the problems of love and death.

Performances run weekends from Friday November 7, 2014 through Sunday November 23, 2014 with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admission. 45 Seconds from Broadway
by Neil Simon
Directed by Mark Allen
Produced by Maureen Rogers

Location: Laurel Mill Playhouse

Friday January 17, 2014 through Saturday February 8, 2014

From America’s master of Contemporary Broadway Comedy, here is another revealing comedy behind the scenes in the entertainment world, this time near the heart of the theatre district. 45 Seconds from Broadway takes place in the legendary “Polish Tea Room” on New York’s 47th Street. Here Broadway theatre personalities washed-up and on-the-rise, gather to schmooz even as they lose. This touching valentine to New York offers great acting roles as Neil Simon continues his exploration of the foibles and funny in the human comedy.

Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French. Performances run weekends from Friday January 17, 2014 through Saturday February 8, 2014 with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission.
