Beech Tree Puppets perform “The Hollow Stump”, based on the folk tale, The Mitten, retold and adapted for table-top rod-puppets. Various animals, sometimes at odds with each other in nature, find community as they seek shelter from an unexpected snow in early spring. Founders Ingrid Cowan Hass and Ole Hass guide the animal puppets as they sing and narrate. (all ages)

World Premiere.

This is a free performance sponsored by the Friends of New Deal Cafe Arts, with support from the City of Greenbelt. (2 to 4pm)

Ingrid Cowan and Ole Hass, classically trained singers and actors, present an old fairy tale with marionettes and sets hand-crafted from silk, wool, and wood, as well as songs written for the show sung and played on simple musical instruments.

Follow the young Prince on his journey to save his brothers who have been transformed into animals by an evil sorceress. Bravely and against all expectations, he overcomes great challenges, including two giants and a fierce dragon, to save his brothers and win the princess.

AHA! Kids events are FREE and ideal for ages 3 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
