Auditions for Solomon and Marion at Greenbelt Arts Center, Jan 9 & 10
Greenbelt Arts Center announces:
Auditions for Solomon and Marion
January 9 & 10, 2021
On January 9 and 10, Greenbelt Arts Center will hold auditions for the short play, “Solomon and Marion” by Laura Foot Newton, directed by Ann Lowe-Barrett. The auditions will be online via Zoom by appointment. To request an audition slot, email the director (annjanelowe@gmail.com) with your resume, conflicts between now and the performance date, and availability on the audition dates.
“Solomon and Marion” is the story of the unlikely friendship between:
Marion Banning, a white 63-year-old South African Woman of English descent. Marion is solid, has her feet on the ground – a wry sense of humor, generous and infinite need. She has lost her son and her husband and her will to live is diminished because of that.
Solomon Xaba, a young 19-year-old South African man of color from rural Xhoza. Inquisitive, aloof and fragile. He is thin because of a liver disease.
All roles are open.
Rehearsals will be virtual. The production will be recorded and streamed for audiences on Feb 27, 28, March 6 and 7, 2021. The director will work with the cast on a convenient rehearsal schedule.
