Teen Summer One Act Plays

Location: Laurel Mill Playhouse

Laurel Mill Playhouse, 508 Main Street, Laurel, Md. will hold auditions for teen actors, male and female, for those entering eighth grade to entering senior year of high school. Auditions will be held Thursday May 22 at 730pm and Saturday May 24 at 3pm. Director Larry Simmons will be looking to fill 20 to 25 roles in a mixture of drama and comedy. Produced by Diana Simmons and executively produced by Maureen Rogers, these one acts will run three weekends from June 27 to July 13, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with matinees to be determined. There will be cold readings from scripts. Bring conflicts, head shots and resumes. No monologue preparation needed. No appointment is necessary. Disney’s Peter Pan Jr. will be held on:

May 11, 2014 at 6:00 PM
May 12, 2014 at 7:00 PM
May 14, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Location: Laurel Mill Playhouse

Director Rebecca Feibel will be casting all parts.

Auditions are open to actors age 6 through 18.

Come prepared with 16 bars of music that showcases singing ability (Accompanist will be provided, bring sheet music) or CD/MP3 with accompaniment only. Cold readings from script. Come dressed for movement wearing closed toe shoes. Bring head shots, resume and conflicts.

If needed, callbacks will be held Thursday, May 15 at 7:00 PM.

Performances are scheduled to run from August 1, 2014 to August 24, 2014.

Location: Prince George’s Little Theatre at the Bowie Playhouse

Auditions will be May 5 & 6, callbacks May 8 if needed.

Auditions for “Brighton Beach Memoirs” will be held Monday May 5, and Tuesday May 6, beginning at 7:00 pm at the Bowie Playhouse, 16500 White Marsh Park, Bowie, MD 20715. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Thursday, May 8, at the New Carrollton Municipal Center, 6016 Princess Garden Parkway, New Carrollton, MD 20784. Rehearsals will begin mid-June at the New Carrollton Municipal Center. The production will run for eight performances from Friday, August 29 through Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Bowie Playhouse.

Note: There are four roles for teen/young adult actors and three roles for adults.

Bowie Community Theatre; performances will be at the Bowie Playhouse.

Audition Process:
Seeking 4 women and 2 men, all ages 50+. No monologues, no callbacks. Participants on either date will have a brief discussion with the director about themselves and their interests in the show, and be asked to do a cold reading or two.
