Description: The story of a young African-American’s coming of age in Mississippi during the 1950s and 1960s is vividly told in this compelling production, offering the audience an individual, inside view of this tumultuous, challenging period of American history.

Recommended for Grades 5 and up. Curriculum Connections: Civil Rights, Human Rights, Civics (Government), US History, African American History.

Enjoy watching ballet dancers performing to this beautiful and familiar music in a casual setting.

Free Autism Friendly performance featuring dances from “The Nutcracker” from 3 – 4 pm, followed by a performance for general audiences from 4 – 5 pm.

Greenbelt Dance Studio, a program of the Greenbelt Recreation Department, presents an original production inspired by holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Set in Greenbelt past and present, the New Deal Nut: A Greenbelt Nutcracker will be performed by dancers ages 5 and up featuring diverse dance styles from ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and more.
