A story told entirely through dance follows the life of Damon, a kid obsessed with photography, and his tragic death at the hands of law enforcement. This senseless killing sparks a revolution in a community that had long forgotten the power of its own voice and rallies a change in everyone that they never knew possible. From ballet, jazz, hip hop, to step, tap and liturgical, this emotionally gripping piece has left audiences speechless. Only 1 performance, so don’t miss your chance to see it.

Throughout innovative choreography, aerial work and theater, VF Dance Theater is excited to show its new work about how memories—even the hard ones—can keep the ones we love alive. Based on a true story, the show raises awareness for Breast cancer using the arts. However it is not about Death, but It’s about how a strong spirit can never really be extinguished. It’s about a family coping, healing, and moving forward. In conjunction with a book that was written with the show “Balou the Comforter” the company hopes to offer HOPE and healing to those battling with cancer and their loved ones.

UpSpring Aerial Lab presents aerial stories of people and places. Using aerial fabrics, dance trapeze, aerial hoop, and sling–along with our own words–we explore personal tales from our youth. Formal seating for this performance will be limited, but there will be plenty of space for audience members to stand or sit on the floor. If you require a chair, please plan to arrive early so that we can seat you.

The unspoken stories of tragedy, survival and emancipation of people of color are told through the eyes of our youth. The lessons learned and the battles won will be told and experienced in honor of Black History Month. Best known for their powerful and high energy dancing, unique choreography, and exceptional vocal harmonies, Taratibu Youth Association’s performers, ages 12 to 18, bring eclectic and diverse musical influences to modern dance, ballet, hip hop, and African dance traditions.
