BOUNDARIES is a dance-based theatre performance inspired by the #YesAllWomen Twitter feed. Through movement, text, song, and multi-media, BOUNDARIES explores feminine sensuality, strength and vulnerability – all parts of a beautiful whole – as seen through the lens of men, women and the media.

Audiences rave – BOUNDARIES is:
“Poignant and beautiful”
“Amazing”
“Thoughtful, passionate and honest sincerity”

In BOUNDARIES, Contradiction Dance seeks to express authentic interactions between strangers, friends and lovers. Mining their personal stories, the cast’s connection to this material is evident through direction from Artistic Director and Choreographer, Kelly King, and Director of Theatre, Melissa Leigh-Bustamante.

Through this unique artistic exploration and in partnership with local organizations, BOUNDARIES by Contradiction Dance aims to move forward the difficult conversations sparked by the #YesAllWomen Twitter phenomenon, exploring themes relevant to today’s woman and tomorrow’s future.

Featuring: Emily Arden, Carlos Bustamante, Erica Chamblee, Jessica Denson, Ben Drexler, Emma Herbert, Eleni Grove, Matina Phillips, and Alison Waldman.

Experience Boundless Eclectic in performance – a unique, multigenerational collaboration of our homeschool youth with highly seasoned, professional musicians/dancers, including Co-Directors Artis & Hermione, as well as Latteta Theresa (our Music Director) – a world-class Master Elder Musician/Composer, and other special guests.

This evening length performance blends dance, movement, music, soundscapes, spoken word, and percussion in a metaphorical, non-linear narrative which explores the quest for Freedom – both historically, with regards to civil rights, and on a personal level, encouraging a continual journey of self-liberation. Why do we have conflicts? How do we resolve them? What choices do we make? In what ways do we hold ourselves back? How can we embody Freedom, every day?

We will be on air live with Brother Ah at WPFW 89.3 on Monday, March 31 between 7 & 10 p.m., to close out International Women’s Month – promoting the show and discussing our creative vision, process, and the multigenerational approach, as well giving a little in-studio performance!
