Bowie Community Theatre is proud to announce auditions for our upcoming production, The Women of Lockerbie, with performances to be held in March 2019 at the Bowie Playhouse.

Auditions will be held at the Kenhill Center, which is located at 2614 Kenhill Drive, Bowie, MD 20715. Auditions Dates, Times, and Room Numbers at the Kenhill Center where auditions will take place are:

Monday, December 3, 2018, 7:00-9:30PM – Room 121 (Old Council Chambers)
Tuesday, December 4, 2018, 7:00-9:30PM – Room 101 (Multi-Purpose Room)

Those interested in auditioning should be prepared to perform a two-minute poem at auditions. There will be cold readings from the script as well. Rehearsals will be held in Bowie, MD, beginning in January, 2019. Scottish accents are a requirement for four of the women. These will be achieved by additional time spent with a dialect coach.

Performances: March 1 – 17, 2019

Performance location: Bowie Community Theatre at the Bowie Playhouse

The Women of Lockerbie takes place seven years after the 1988 disaster in which an American airliner was destroyed over Lockerbie, Scotland, apparently by a terrorist bomb. The Livingstons have come to Lockerbie for a memorial service that is being held for the families of the victims. They meet the women of Lockerbie who are determined to convert an act of hatred into an act of love by washing and returning the clothes to the victims’ families. The Women of Lockerbie is a powerful and moving poetic drama—an affirmation about how the human spirit triumphs over evil.

Location: Joe’s Movement Emporium

Tickets. Adults: $17, Students & Seniors: $12. Click here.
