One-Act Play Festival at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Apr 10-12

One-Act Play Festival at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Apr 10-12

One-Act Play Festival

Location: Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt. In the Drama Room (004).

April 10 – 12, 2018 at 7pm
Performances each night will be different plays.

At Roosevelt every Spring, we hold our One Act Festival, in which we showcase many different One Acts. Each One Act is about 10 to 15 minutes, and they are all student directed (and in some cases, even student written). They are a fun opportunity for students to experiment with the different aspects of putting on a play, and get a closer look at how many things actually go into making a play.

The ERHS Theatre Department One Acts Festival will take place in the Room 004 Blackbox, Tuesday through Thursday, April 10-12. Students will be presenting 22 One Act Plays over the course of the 3 day festival- with performances by ALONIZ each day.

The plays include Mutually Assured Destruction by Don Zolidis, a 10-play set dealing with the tumultuous and funny relationship between siblings, two separate collections of plays dealing with the difficult topic of bullying, a play exploring the pressures of growing up Perfect, an examination of a couple’s relationship spanning childhood into retirement, and an… interesting look at the relationship between the silverware in our kitchen drawers. All of the plays have been selected by students, and 21 of the plays are directed by students.

Tickets are $10 at the door, but will be available during all lunches (or from Mrs. Hawk before or after school) until Monday, April 9th, at the special price of $20 for 3 tickets- that’s less than $1 per play! Seating is limited, so get your tickets early.
