The Wright Stuff: First in Flight

Here is the amazing true story of two young brothers, barely out of their teens, who use their bicycle shop to do what generations of scientists only dreamed of: invent the airplane. The Wright brothers and their studious sister proved that determination and hard work can change the world forever.

Recommended for grades 3-8.

AUDITION NOTICE!! 12 Angry Men

Auditions for will be held at All Saints Lutheran Church in Bowie, MD (16510 Mt Oak Rd, Bowie, MD 20716) on Tuesday, October 7th and Thursday, October 9th at 7 PM. Please bring a headshot, resume, and a list conflicts for the remainder of October through December 20. Monologues are welcome, but there will also be cold readings from the script. Note that all roles in the show are male. Questions can be sent to 2ndstarbowie@gmail.com.

Rehearsals will be primarily Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 pm and Saturdays at 11 am until mid-November when they may be nightly. The show runs December 5 through December 20, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees, with some Thursday shows. Performances will be at the Charis Center for the Arts at 13010 8th St, Bowie, MD 20720.

Description: Frontline: Women of a Forgotten War Premieres October 4 at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts. Frontline: Women of a Forgotten War tells the story of women from different walks of life who are living in Maryland or Washington, D.C. during the War of 1812. Through a fusion of dance, music, and narration, Frontline explores the burdens shouldered and the opportunities seized by women as our young nation sent its husbands, fathers and sons into war once again. The program will also feature live music performed Bedlam, which specializes in American Colonial vocal and instrumental music, and a reprise of Wayles Haynes’ Dependent.
