Opera Lafayette’s winter program is the first version of this Handel favorite, a drama about the taming of a powerful and ambitious king. This fully-staged production will be directed by choreographer Séan Curran and conducted by Ryan Brown.

Séan Curran, Director/Choreographer. Chair of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Department of Dance. Founder of the Séan Curran Dance Company, which will be featured in the production. Company is celebrating its 20th anniversary in a NY premiere at BAM

Ryan Brown, Conductor. Opera Lafayette Founder and Artistic Director. Violinist and conductor. Graduate of The Juilliard School. His discography inlcudes twelve sound recordings for Naxos. Recipient of La Médaille d’Or du Rayonnement Culturel from La Renaissance Française.

Obviously, her man loves her. What more can a woman ask for – this is the life!

​Or is it? It’s been said that we all want what we can’t have and this Diva, who seems to have it all, is no exception. With a husband constantly on the road Natania finds a desire for something younger and more energetic. A girl can only shop for so long and who knows if her hubby is ‘only’ grinding those many, many nights out of state. Natania has always handled business and this situation is no different. Unfortunately, she forgets one golden rule: Only cheat with someone who has just as much to lose as you!
