for colored girls… is a choreopoem written by Ntozake Shange. It’s a piece that explores the stories, experiences and journey of growing up as a woman of color in America. The play uses music, dance, and poetic drama to take us through the tragedy and the triumphs of life, and life’s struggles, as we move from childhood to womanhood, embracing the power of self-discovery, self-determination, and affirmation. She was affectionately known as Nippy to her family, but to the world she was “The Voice”. “I Will Always Love You” is infused with your favorite Whitney songs and the movies she was featured in as an actress. So throughout the night we will have Whitney facts. We will share her accomplishments throughout her career as Talein sings her songs in a beautiful artistic tribute with signature songs by Whitney sung Talein style.
