Cat on A Hot Tin Roof has been often cited as Tennessee Williams’ masterwork. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, it is a drama about the burning conflict and passion that grips a dysfunctional Southern family as it finally confronts and speaks the truth.

Location: Greenbelt Arts Center

A steamy prohibition tale, that tells the story of lovers Queenie and Burrs, who decide that their mutually abusive relationship can be fixed by throwing the party-to-end-all parties. After the colorful arrival of a slew of guests living life on the edge, the decadence reaches a climax, as does Burrs’ jealously. A gun gets fired, but who’s been shot?

Please prepare a song; bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. Come dressed for movement, and be prepared to read from the script. Please provide a resumé and a headshot (if you have one) and have your conflicts handy.

Performances will be August 30 – September 15, 2019.

Greenbelt Arts Center will be holding a ‘Cabaret Night’ on Saturday, June 1. The theme for this evening is ‘Songs I Wouldn’t Normally Get To Sing On Stage”. This can mean a lot of different things: wrong gender, wrong color, wrong type, wrong age….

Just as the party begins, an F.B.I. agent arrives, chaos ensues, and the lives of everyone are forever altered.
