MAD presents Auditions, Affairs, and Aliens. The result of MAD’s Spring Workshops will be two nights of music and drama on June 14 and 15, 7:30, at the Goddard Visitor Center. One of the club’s main purposes is to foster and develop new talent in the performing arts. These workshops focus on this in particular, giving singers, actors, directors, and playwrights a unique venue to work on their crafts. Come and join us for this presentation entitled “Auditions, Affairs, and Aliens.” Since the Visitor Center is outside the main gate, no badges are necessary. Buy tickets in advance ($9 adults, or $5 children, students and interns) at https://madtheater.org/tickets, or at the door ($15 or $10). You can navigate to the Visitor Center using 9432 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt.

An affectionate look at polyamory and the modern family. Emerson’s dating Sawyer, who’s married to Monty, who’s dating Ray, who’s also dating Avery, who’s married to Emerson. And their friend Keegan lives with them too. This is a show about a family — Venn House, six people who chose one another. Sure, sometimes poly people’s problems are about relationships. Sometimes they’re about jobs, or money, or haunted antiques. And sometimes family is even more complicated than it seems.

Ticket prices: $24 General Admission, $22 Seniors/Military, $12 Student/Youth. Buy tickets here.

This musical is really about a man finding himself and his place in the world far later in life than maybe he had planned to. I really want this production to be a celebration of that journey to self-acceptance and self-actualization — no matter what time of our lives we’re at, we deserve to feel like we belong.
