Musical Comedy Murders of 1940
Feb 9-24, 2018
Play by John Bishop

2nd Star Productions at the Bowie Playhouse

The creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious “Stage Door Slasher” assemble at a Westchester estate for a backer’s audition of their new show. The house is replete with sliding panels, secret passageways, and a German maid who is apparently four different people, all of which figure diabolically in the comic mayhem which follows when the infamous “Slasher” makes a reappearance and strikes again and again. Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 is an ingenious and wildly comic romp which pokes antic fun at the more ridiculous aspects of “show biz” and the corny thrillers of Hollywood’s heyday.

Tickets for shows at Bowie Playhouse are $22.00 for General Admission, $19.00 for seniors (60 and over) and full time students, and $12 for Children 11 and under. Buy tickets here.

When the creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop assemble for a backer’s audition for a new musical on a suburban estate, things turn deadly with plenty of confusing murders and knotty plots to unravel in John Bishop’s comedic thriller.
