Seymour’s just another jerk working down on Skid Row, haplessly pining after his coworker Audrey and keeping his head down. Suddenly, opportunity falls into his lap in the form of a mysterious new plant. A carnivorous, conniving – not to mention singing – new plant that promises to fulfill Seymour’s every wish in exchange for human blood. This classic sci-fi musical comedy packs a gleefully witty Motown/pop-rock score from the creative team behind Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and more. “[A] gleefully twisted musical featuring a man-eating plant and killer doo-wop tunes.” – The Washington Post

The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, “Skid Row (Downtown)”, “Somewhere That’s Green”, and “Suddenly, Seymour”.
