Auditions for Rasheeda Speaking at Joe’s Movement Emporium, Aug 23

Ally Theatre Company announces auditions for the DC-area Premiere of:
Rasheeda Speaking
by Joel Drake Johnson

Actors are encouraged to apply, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or age. Roles will be cast responsibly in regards to age and race.

Seeking: DOCTOR WILLIAMS: mid 40s-early 60s. White male. Charming, charismatic, a favorite among his patients. Loves being the boss. Hides his irritation and discomfort with Jaclyn behind a smile. Wants Jaclyn fired because he doesn’t like her attitude but knows he has no legal ground to do so. Uses Ileen’s adoration of him to manage and manipulate her relationship with Jaclyn.

ROSE SAUNDERS: late 60s-70s. A long-time patient of Dr. Williams. Feeble. Is offered a wheelchair but declines. Sweet and grandmotherly. There is no indication of her ethnicity in the script, but based on her dialogue she is most likely not black.

The roles of JACLYN SPAULDING and ILEEN VAN DE METER are cast. All roles are paid.
