CREATIVE KIDS CAMP Ages 6-12

For Summer 2014, CKC proudly presents an all-new show: MESSAGE TO TOMORROW

She’s BACK! Wonderful, irrepressible Grandma from Magic In The Attic, who helped kids use their imaginations to bring an attic full of toys to life, returns to Creative Kids Camp this summer, with a brand-new show full of old-fashioned fun! She’s here to help the Up-to-date family, whose members are addicted to their cellphones – they even use them to say “Pass the salt” at the dinner table! Grandma intervenes with some vintage fun and games, teaching the Up-to-dates to party like it’s 1938 – and to emulate Greenbelt’s founders by creating a living legacy that sends a Message To Tomorrow.

The magic of art and performance unfolds for campers at the Greenbelt Community Center, where they are mentored by teaching artists and enthusiastic counselors as they explore theater, movement, music, ceramics, and visual art. At the end of each session, campers will present a live musical theater performance at the Greenbelt Arts Center. Self-confidence, coordination, and presentation skills are among the developmental benefits that come with performing in the CKC musical.

This camp is ideal for the camper who prefers creating to competing. Campers experience the joy of collaborating as a community as they jointly create the imaginary world of the camp show. Campers enjoy supervised free swim twice per week. There are no field trips.
