Auditions for Bad Jews
Auditions for Bad Jews by Josh Harmon, will be held at the theater Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 10 at 7:30. Callbacks, if needed, will be Thursday, November 12.
Location: Greenbelt Arts Center
Director Bob Kleinberg is casting 2 men and 2 women.
Performances will run from March 4-20, 2016.
All roles are open and unpaid.
Summary: The night after their grandfather’s funeral, three cousins engage in a verbal (and sometimes physical) battle. In one corner is Daphna, a “Real Jew” who is volatile, self assured, and unbending. In the other is her equally stubborn cousin Liam, a secular and entitled young man, who has his shiksa girlfriend, Melody, in tow. Stuck in the middle is Liam’s brother Jonah, who tries to stay out of the fray. When Liam stakes claim to their grandfather’s Chai necklace, a vicious and hilarious brawl over family, faith, and legacy ensues.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script, plus possible improv skills.
