A Bedtime Story is an original story ballet showcasing the many talents of our dancers in a wonderful theatrical production with imaginative costumes, scenery and lighting. This ballet is a fast moving, lively program about a young girl, Marissa. As Marissa’s mother tries to put her to bed, Marissa begs her to read her favorite story of a faraway village of lively children, fairies, a jester and king and queen. Marissa’s adventure begins as a small urchin enters her bed room and entices her to visit her favorite village and become a part of their May Day festival. She meets the hunter and milkmaids and village girls and boys and joins in the merriment as dancers from Ireland, Spain, the Orient and Egypt come to greet the King and the fairies bring blessings for a prosperous harvest. This lively ballet will capture the imagination of audience members of all ages, while showcasing local talent.
The program also includes variety of repertory dances and class dances performed by our dancers of all levels. The Performing Arts Repertory Company (PARC) is a non-profit performing group in-residence at the Ballet Academy, Beltsville, MD.
Tickets: Adults: $15, Child/Senior/Military $6.00
