Set in 1900 Sweden, A Little Night Music explores the tangled web of affairs centered around actress, Desirée Armfeldt, and the men who love her: a lawyer by the name of Fredrik Egerman and the Count Carl-Magnus Malcom. When the traveling actress performs in Fredrik’s town, the estranged lovers’ passion rekindles. This strikes a flurry of jealousy and suspicion between Desirée; Fredrik; Fredrik’s wife, Anne; Desirée’s current lover, the Count; and the Count’s wife, Charlotte. Both men – as well as their jealous wives – agree to join Desirée and her family for a weekend in the country at Desirée’s mother’s estate. With everyone in one place, infinite possibilities of new romances and second chances bring endless surprises.

Shows are November 3-17, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2:30pm, plus an additional show on Thursday, November 16 at 8pm. Please note that closing night is Friday, November 17, due to the possibility of a government shutdown on November 18.

All of the wit and romance of Jane Austen’s classic 1813 novel come to life in this play. Finding a husband is hardly Elizabeth Bennet’s most urgent priority. But with four sisters, an overzealous match-making mother, and a string of unsuitable suitors, it’s difficult to escape the subject. When the independent-minded Elizabeth meets the handsome but enigmatic Mr. Darcy, she is determined not to let her feelings triumph over her own good sense — but the truth turns out to be slipperier than it seems. In a society where subtle snubs and deceit proliferate, is it possible for Elizabeth and Darcy to look beyond his pride and her prejudice, and to make the best match of all?

Tickets: Adults: $20, Children 18 and under, Seniors 65 and over, and active duty military: $15

He Creeps Halloween Edition at the Bowie CPA, Oct 29

He Creeps Halloween Edition at the Bowie CPA, Oct 29

3RDEYE Open Productions Presents:
He Creeps Halloween Edition
by Keith McDaniel Sr
directed by Tia Dae

Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 4pm

Location: Bowie Center for the Performing Arts.

HE CREEPS is a refreshing, comedic perspective on the ups and downs, twists and turns in relationships. Creator Keith McDaniel skillfully presents characters that are relatable, “down to earth,” and gutsy as they express the vulnerability in relationships on stage.

Reviewers and critiques describe and compare HE CREEPS to playwrights like William Shakespeare, George Bernard Shaw, and Oscar Wilde. HE CREEPS is a new-school approach that uses old-school figures of speech.

Come enjoy the same play, but with Halloween twists that will keep you laughing and on the edge of your seat.
