SPRING CIRCUS CAMP Ages 7-14, April 6-10, 2015

Location: Greenbelt Community Center Gymnasium

Join former Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus performer Greg May for a fun-filled session of circus skills training. Learn juggling, stilt-walking, unicycling, balance boards, rolling globe, partner acrobatics, clown gags, and single-point and fabric trapeze.
The development of circus skills translates into immediate life advantages: balance, hand-eye coordination, public presentation, teamwork, creativity, and how to slip on a banana peel without getting hurt! Campers are safely taught at their individual skill levels. On the last day of each camp session, campers will demonstrate their new skills in a show for parents and other guests. Students under age 8 admitted with Director’s approval.

Laurel Mill Playhouse Shakespeare Teen Theatre Announces Auditions for
The Tempest
by William Shakespeare

Location: Laurel Mill Playhouse

Laurel Mill Playhouse, 508 Main Street, Laurel, Md. will hold auditions for teenagers on Monday, March 30th at 7pm and Tuesday, March 31st at 7pm this Shakespearean comedy. Director Michael Hartsfield requests the teenagers auditioning have twenty to thirty lines of any monologue from a Shakespeare play prepared for the audition. Memorization is not necessary. The Tempest will run from May 29 through June 14 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Also, teenagers who want to be involved in costuming, light/sound design and operation, stage managers, set construction and design, and publicity should come on auditions dates with resume. Teen Shakespeare Theatre is open to teens entering the 7th grade through those entering 12th grade. $50 fee to cover incidental expenses. Parental help gratefully accepted. 18 plus roles available!

Auditions for Taratibu Youth Association at Joe’s Movement Emporium, Mar 21

Taratibu Youth Association is a young people’s performing arts company that focuses on African and African American culture. We use traditional and contemporary songs, dance and movement to teach principles of community building, self-determination, and spirituality.

Taratibu Youth Association holds auditions twice a year in the spring and fall.

The next auditions are being held March 21, 2015, 12:00 – 4:00pm.

Ideally auditioning youth should be strong vocalists and experienced in dance, however, no previous experience is necessary. Youth interested in auditioning should be between 11-18 years old.
