Description: WonderWorks is a new professional theater company at Bowie State University that produces shows for young audiences. Directed by Bob Bartlett, “Secret Life Under the Stairs” is a play about making friends and exploring an imaginative world.

Location: Black Box Theatre, Fine and Performing Arts Center, Bowie State University.

Cost: $3 for children; $5 for BSU faculty, staff, students and senior citizens; $10 general admission

The DeMatha Players will present Crime and Punishment, an adaptation of the Dostoyevsky novel. Performances will be held on Friday, September 27th and Saturday, 28th at 8 PM and Sunday, 29th at 2 PM. The play commemorates the 9/11 attacks by exploring the lives of some of the heroes. The story follows a young fire captain and the journalist who helps him prepare eulogies. Together, they grow to understand the ways in which men were so much more than heroes to their colleagues and families.

Synopsis
In a Louisiana army camp in 1944 Capt. Taylor, the white C.O., has a problem. He commands a black company whose sergeant has been murdered. He is worried the murderer may be a white officer or the local Klan. A black captain, Richard Davenport, is assigned to investigate.
