Description: This anti-bullying dramatic tale shows the temptations and pitfalls inherent in social media and online culture. Cyberbullying is real and has consequences in real life. Bright Star Theatre’s production will help younger audience members understand the danger and know how to practice healthy behavior online.

Recommended for grades 3-8. Curriculum Connections: Character Education, Anti-Bullying.

Lost Sons
by Sydney Lemelin

This hip-hop theater piece explores the impact of mass incarceration in the black community. The effects of an imprisoned father ripple throughout the entire family and community, and the play highlights the sharp differences in families with and without a father figure around. It also demonstrates differences in how white men and black men are sentenced.

The DC area premier! Based on the novel and film of the same name, “Let the Right One In” is the haunting tale of a boy’s friendship with a mysterious young female neighbor. As he struggles with adolescence, bullies, self-isolation and an alcoholic mother, she struggles with a deep secret she must keep from her new friend and a hunger that must be satisfied to survive.

Tickets for Hard Bargain Players performances are $12 for adults, $10 for students, seniors and members of the Alice Ferguson Foundation.
