Maryland Ghostlight Company presents Deadline by Don Zolidis, premiering May 10th at the Cafritz Foundation Theatre in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center! A student-led theater club dedicated to straight plays, this will be the company’s fourth production. TDPS students Keegan Perry and Matthew Dietrich directed the play, and stage management is done by Jaylyn Manu, Amelia Du Bois, and Rushi Jain.

Alex and Olmsted are proud to introduce you to Milo, an aspiring magician with a big heart and maybe a tiny bit of stage fright. Milo’s magic may not always turn out quite the way he plans it, but audiences of all ages are guaranteed to fall in love with this charmingly innovative puppet show. Performed as a wordless comedy, Milo the Magnificent evokes the spirit of vaudeville and childhood dreams of stardom while offering chills, thrills and unbelievable spectacle for the whole family, all in under an hour! Alex and Olmsted is a resident company at Baltimore Theatre Project and was awarded the 2020 State Independent Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council. Their programs have been named as an official selection of the Maryland Film Festival, supported by the Jim Henson Foundation, and joyfully reviewed by The New York Times.

And the vengeful Don Jon is bent on ruining everyone else’s lives just because he can. Will the villain get his way, or – even in this day and age – does love really conquer all? Set in today’s world, with updated characters and incorporating modern technology, the Rudes present a contemporary spin on one of Shakespeare’s greatest and most beloved comedies.

First-year Maryland Opera Studio students demonstrate their talent in this showcase featuring scenes from a wide operatic repertory. To keep the focus on beautiful, pure sounds and vivid acting, the performance is accompanied only by piano and minimal props.

The Maryland Opera Studio is dedicated to the future of opera. Preparing the next generation of great singers and offering performances ranging from classic repertoire to provocative new works, it is building contemporary audiences for opera and advancing the art form to sustain those audiences.
