A spilt drink in a dingy nightclub smashes them together and leads to a night of sex, stories and ultimately heartbreak and tragedy for these two unlikely companions. Virus Attacks Heart is an intricate dissection of a one night stand, exploring in a non-linear structure the deep emotional connections we make in the most unlikely of circumstances.

Love Letters at Laurel Mill Playhouse, Nov 2 at 2pm

Love Letters at Laurel Mill Playhouse, Nov 2 at 2pm

Sunday November 2, 2014 for one performance only!

Love Letters
by A. R. Gurney
Directed by Maureen Rogers
Produced by Maureen Rogers

One performance only, at 2:00 PM.

Location: Laurel Mill Playhouse

The piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.

Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service. Tickets are $20 for general admission. Admission for students (12 and under), active duty military and seniors (65 and over) is $15. Description: A group of photojournalists documented Marines in Afghanistan by taking photographs and videos using only an iPhone. This material, which enabled military families to communicate with their loved ones, began to tell an important story of ordinary people fundamentally changed by extraordinary circumstances.

The artful power of these images, a live musical score and spoken work text from Marines themselves come together in a riveting multimedia experience that reflect the uncertainties and separation that is a byproduct of war on families and communities.

Death Takes a Holiday
by Walter Ferris
Directed by Mark T. Allen
Produced by Maureen C. Rogers

Location: Laurel Mill Playhouse

This striking drama is based on the poetic conception of death suspending all activities for three days during which he falls in love with a beautiful girl and through her realizes why mortals fear him. The character who symbolizes Death is a very human person, with no conventional claptrap dragged in for mere effect. Here is a play that stimulates discussion and presents a novel and optimistic philosophy of the problems of love and death.

Performances run weekends from Friday November 7, 2014 through Sunday November 23, 2014 with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admission.
