This interactive show explores how light and sound move in waves. The Science Guys of Baltimore will demonstrate the different shapes and sizes of waves and how they affect light and sound. Kids will be laughing with the voice-changing amplifier, wowed by the laser show, and shocked with a super cool electrostatic generator. Educational content recommended for ages 5-12. 2024 Prince George’s Shakespeare in the Parks presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Description: The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Division will be producing Shakespeare in the Parks for 2024. This summer we are thrilled to present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, directed by newly appointed Artistic Director Randy Snight. Love is in the air, but it’s tangled in a romantic web involving four young Athenians. Venture into the mystical woods where fairies stir up a potion that turns the lovers’ world upside down. Get ready for an unforgettable experience of whimsy, wonder, and weddings as the enchanting tale of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” comes to life on stage in this 90-minute production. Bring your lawn chair, a picnic, and enjoy the Bard under the stars.

Note: The Publick Playhouse is an indoor venue and therefore seating is limited. Doors will open one hour prior to the performance; seating is first come, first served.

No one should be alone in winter. Set in a beach town on Maryland’s eastern shore, the play follows the twists and turns of two 60-somethings: Bonnie, a waitress and painter that knows herself too well, and Sam, a writer who is struggling wiith illness and growing old. This bittersweet play explores how a past action impinges on the present and the enduring connections between two people in the winter of their lives.

Location: Goddard Space Flight Center’s MAD Theater.

MAD presents Auditions, Affairs, and Aliens. The result of MAD’s Spring Workshops will be two nights of music and drama on June 14 and 15, 7:30, at the Goddard Visitor Center. One of the club’s main purposes is to foster and develop new talent in the performing arts. These workshops focus on this in particular, giving singers, actors, directors, and playwrights a unique venue to work on their crafts. Come and join us for this presentation entitled “Auditions, Affairs, and Aliens.” Since the Visitor Center is outside the main gate, no badges are necessary.
