Auditions Sunday, July 14 at 2pm, Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 15 at 7pm.

Performances November 1 – 23, 2024.

MAD invites you to auditions for Mary Poppins on Sunday, July 14 at 2pm in the Building 3 Auditorium, or Monday or Tuesday, July 15 & 16 at 7pm in the Goddard Visitor Center, 9432 Greenbelt Road. Call backs will be Thursday, July 18, if needed, in the Visitor Center.

MAD welcomes participation in Mary Poppins by people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, ages and abilities. No experience necessary. The show has an expandable chorus including parts suitable for beginners. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a play!

If you wish to audition, please fill in the online audition form and conflict sheet no later than one day before you audition. In addition, you may email a theatrical resume and headshot to Jon Gardner at jongreenbelt@yahoo.com.

If you do not have a NASA, Goddard or MAD badge, you are welcome to audition on Monday or Tuesday at the Visitor Center. To audition on Sunday in the Building 3 Auditorium, you must have a badge or must fill in the form by Thursday, July 4, so we can arrange for a 1-day badge.

Auditions will consist of performing a song, learning a dance, and reading selections from the script. Audition materials, including songs, dance videos, and selections from the script, will be available soon in the Members section of the MAD website: https://www.madtheaterarchive.org/mem/. How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Frog! A new musical for young audiences! From Helen Hayes-nominated playwright Patrick Flynn comes this musical version of “The Frog Prince.” A spoiled Princess drops her iPod (which she has named “Poddy”) into a well and a talking frog emerges to strike a deal with her: he’ll fetch Poddy from the bottom of the well, and in return, the Princess must bring the Frog to the castle for an extended stay. Starring Beth Amann, Alex DeBard, Kitty LeLynx, Ian Blackwell Rogers, Jill Tighe, and Carl Williams. Directed by Helen Hayes winner Kari Ginsburg with musical direction by Paige Rammelkamp.

This interactive show explores how light and sound move in waves. The Science Guys of Baltimore will demonstrate the different shapes and sizes of waves and how they affect light and sound. Kids will be laughing with the voice-changing amplifier, wowed by the laser show, and shocked with a super cool electrostatic generator. Educational content recommended for ages 5-12. 2024 Prince George’s Shakespeare in the Parks presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Description: The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Division will be producing Shakespeare in the Parks for 2024. This summer we are thrilled to present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, directed by newly appointed Artistic Director Randy Snight. Love is in the air, but it’s tangled in a romantic web involving four young Athenians. Venture into the mystical woods where fairies stir up a potion that turns the lovers’ world upside down. Get ready for an unforgettable experience of whimsy, wonder, and weddings as the enchanting tale of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” comes to life on stage in this 90-minute production. Bring your lawn chair, a picnic, and enjoy the Bard under the stars.

Note: The Publick Playhouse is an indoor venue and therefore seating is limited. Doors will open one hour prior to the performance; seating is first come, first served.
