The School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies presents our next Experimental Performance Series production on October 28th and 29th! This installation features the following original works created, performed, and produced by students.

LivieJanae (B.A. Dance ’23): “FIXED”
“A Dance Drama. A fictional story line based on the exhausting reality of many.”

Casie Curry (B.A. Dance ’23): “A Series of Essays”
“A Series of Essays is a performance hybrid exploring different trains of thoughts from one pivotal moment. With an existential lens of life, how can someone navigate their future?”

Courtney Simmons (B.A. Theatre ’23): “A Musical Love Letter”
“A conglomerate of musical theatre songs musical theatre lovers know and love put to new lyrics. Especially made with people of color in mind, this love letter to musicals, to UMD, and to everything we students have learned here is meant to be taken with love and with a grain of salt. We aren’t taking ourselves too seriously. Have fun, enjoy the show.”

NextNOW Fest is a signature event in University of Maryland’s Arts for All initiative, which leverages the combined power of the arts, technology and social justice to address the grand challenges of our time. In addition to our student, academic and touring arts lineup at The Clarice, we’re thrilled to continue partnerships with student-led groups, academic departments and community organizations to hold the festival at sites throughout campus and into College Park!
