The Breaking Point

The Breaking Point explores how relationships between people devolve due to the current political climate of the US. The piece features interviews with students from the School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance studies that comment on how politics affect an “epicenter of apathy.”

Babel
By Almost Human

Babel is a site-specific performance exploring knowledge, histories and beliefs. The piece delves into ancient institutions, where they have come from, and where they are headed. Babel is produced by PhD student Fraser Stevens’ experimental theatre company, Almost Human.

Patrick “Black Picasso” Washington, forged in Washington DC’s legendary U Street Poetry Scene, is a 4 time DC representative at the National Poetry Slam and 2001’s Washington DC Def Poetry Slam Champion. He became a semi-regular performer on HBO presents Russell Simmons Def Poetry as one of spoken word’s most dynamic duos, The POEM-CEES. Patrick Washington performed along with Grammy-winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari for the dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, sharing the stage with Stevie Wonder & President Obama, among others, in 2011.
