For families and patrons of all ages! Celebrate the holidays at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts with our original production of Charles Dickens’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL, adapted and directed by Christopher Dwyer. Step back in time to Victorian London for a magical tale of ghosts, a change of heart, and the true meaning of the holidays! Audiences of all ages will be charmed by this much-loved holiday story vividly brought to life by a cast featuring professional actors and musicians from across the DMV with local talent of all ages. This exciting community event will capture the joyful spirit of the season and bring us all together in celebration at the BCPA!

Shakespeare in the Parks Presents: A Christmas Carol: Radio Drama

Step back in time to Victorian London for a magical tale of ghosts, a change of heart, and the true meaning of the holidays in Charles Dicken’s – A Christmas Carol. This timeless classic has been adapted by Christopher Dwyer into an audio drama. Listen in and be charmed by a much-loved holiday story vividly brought to life. Our FREE, family-friendly presentation, filled with music, captures the joy and delight of the season. Narrated by Lilian Oben, this performance includes appearances by award-winning actors Edward Gero as Jacob Marley and Matt McGee as Scrooge. Join us on a thoughtful journey, with well-known characters, in what is sure to be a comforting and safe holiday tradition.

Appropriate for middle school ages and above.

Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 PM, and Sundays are at 3 PM. Our closing performance on Saturday, December 14th is a 3 PM matinee.

A Christmas Carol is a spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens’ most well-known story. Broadway heavy hitters, Alan Menken (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once on This Island), breathe fantastic new life into the classic tale!

Tickets for shows at Bowie Playhouse are $22.00 for General Admission, $19.00 for seniors (60 and over) and full time students, and $12 for Children 11 and under. Buy tickets here.
