Shakespeare in the Parks provides opportunities for county-based designers, actors, and musicians to share their creativity and expertise with county residents of all ages. All acting positions are paid. Performances of our next production (Macbeth) are scheduled July 5-20, 2020 in open-air locations throughout Prince George’s County. Auditioning actors must be 18 years or older and should present a monologue from one of Shakespeare’s plays. Actors need not be county residents to audition. Auditions are by appointment only. Prince George’s Shakespeare in the Parks brings free, entertaining and accessible productions of works by the greatest playwright of the English language to communities throughout Prince George’s County, and provides opportunities for county-based directors, actors and musicians to share their creativity and expertise with county residents of all ages. All acting positions are paid; performances are scheduled from July 9-27, 2019 in open-air locations in Prince George’s County. Auditioning actors must be 18 years or older, and should present a monologue from one of Shakespeare’s plays. Actors need not be county residents to audition. Auditions are by appointment only. An unmistakable title from the unforgettable film and television franchise, Fame The Musical inspired generations to fight for fame and light up the sky like a flame! Conceived and developed by David De Silva – now known affectionately to the planet as “Father Fame” – this high-octane musical features the Academy Award-winning title song and a host of other catchy pop numbers. The show follows the final class of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts from their admission in 1980 to their graduation in 1984. All of the struggles, fears and triumphs – from prejudice to substance abuse – are depicted with razor-sharp focus as the young artists navigate the worlds of music, drama and dance.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 Senior Citizens, $8 for students and children

Description: Journey with Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter as they escape from war-torn London and venture through the Wardrobe and into Narnia in C.S. Lewis’ classic story: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Lucy is the first to venture into this fantastical land, meeting the Faun Tumnus, who turns out to be a spy for the White Witch. After Tumnus has a change of heart and lets Lucy go, Edmund follows soon after, only to fall into the hands of the witch, betraying his brother and sisters. Susan and Peter find their bravery as they seek out Aslan, a lion, who has come to deliver them from the White Witch and a land that is always winter. Join us as St. Vincent Pallotti’s Arts Academy performs this classic tale November 10-12.
