2nd Star is excited to present the area premiere of this 2012 Tony-winning play. This 2012 Tony-winning play is a wildly imaginative adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling novels, telling how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair and the bonds of friendship, duty, and love.

“The Univited”, written by Tim Kelly and directed by Keith Brown, will be PGLT’s third production of the 2016-17 season. Performances are April 28 – May 13, 2017 at the Bowie Playhouse.

Synopsis: Seeking to escape the demands of life in London, Pam Fitzgerald and her brother, Roddy, an aspiring playwright, discover a charming house on the west coast of England, overlooking the Irish Sea. The house, Cliff End, has long been empty, and they are able to purchase it at a suspiciously low price. The reason is soon apparent: The house has an unsavory reputation. Fifteen years earlier a murder may or may not have occurred by the gnarled tree that can be viewed from the parlor window. Slowly the Fitzgeralds begin to sense the evil spirit that still inhabits the house. With help, Cliff End is forced, at last, to reveal its dark secrets and the ghost is discovered to be not only real, but dangerous.

Instead of relishing life after her heart transplant, Joy enters a downward spiral, unsure whether she truly deserves a second chance. Meanwhile, Alice and Hank mourn the loss of their son, Jack, whose heart was used to save Joy. At a friend’s urging, Joy tracks down Jack’s family to find closure. But are Alice, Hank, and their daughter Sammy ready to accept Jack’s death? Based on a true story, The Tin Woman uses humor and pathos to explore loss, family, and what it means to be given new life.
