Gutenberg! The Musical! at Greenbelt Arts Center, Dec 11-20, Online

GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL!
by Anthony King and Scott Brown
Directed by Zack Walsh
Music Director Lucia LaNave
Choreographer Stefan Sittig
Produced by Pamela Northrup

Online two weekends: December 11, 12, 18 and 19.

By Greenbelt Arts Center, Online.

Gutenberg! The Musical is a play within a play, like Hamlet but even funnier! Wannabe Broadway writers Bud and Deb are just so darn excited to share their new musical with an audience, and what better way to share it than through a Zoom call! What they may lack in talent they make up for in awkward energy! Although their show – a biography of Johannes Gutenberg, inventor of the Printing Press – features an extensive cast, Bud and Deb have decided that for tonight’s performance they’ll read all the parts themselves! Starring Capital Fringe Festival favorites David Koenigberg and Aria Velz, Gutenberg! The Musical! is the perfect show for the COVID age- with no sets and costumes it relies only on your off-kilter imagination!

Notice: this play contains adult themes and language.

By purchasing a ticket you will receive the link to watch the show. Tickets: $15.

The Revenger’s Tragedy at Greenbelt Arts Center, Oct 30-31, Online

The Rude Mechanicals in residence at the Greenbelt Arts Center present:
The Revenger’s Tragedy
by Anonymous circa 1605
directed by Jaki Demarest

Performances Friday and Saturday, October 30 & 31

By Greenbelt Arts Center, Online.

The Revenger’s Tragedy is a darkly comic masterpiece by an unknown writer. Just in time for Halloween, we have a Jacobean revenge tragedy with vivid and muscular prose, Hamlet without the indecision. A little touch of Tarantino in the night, with intrigue, murder, mayhem, infidelity, a poisoned skull, a mistaken execution, a battle royale with the improbable weapon of a severed head, and a twist ending that manages to subvert all the tropes and expectations.

Notice: this play contains adult themes and references to sexual violence.

All performances are free. We are asking a suggested donation of $10 to help support our continuing efforts to provide theater to Greenbelt and the larger community; please click on Donate and select “Support Online Shows.”
