The Hollow Stump

Seven very different animals seek shelter from the winter cold and snow in a large hollow stump. The cuddly, hand-crafted rod-puppets will enchant any child as the characteristics of each animal are revealed through a unique and descriptive poem and song. When the animals let newcomers enter and the space inside the stump grows tighter, these songs interweave. Adapted from the popular tale, The Mitten, this tale celebrates community, as the animals learn to share one.

Our AHA Kids Series is appropriate for ages 3 and 8 with their parents. This show is FREE and open to the public — Your generous donation to College Park Arts Exchange is always appreciated!

The School For Super-Heroes Presents Orlando Furioso, The Musical is about a group of students with offbeat, not-so-superpowers who don’t feel they fit in at a high school for super-powered teenagers. Drawing on their combined abilities, they produce the most ambitious high school musical ever, based on a 16th-century fantasy epic that puts the King Arthur legends to shame. The result surprises them all and just maybe saves the world! Who could resist a musical that combines super-powers with knights, wizards, and warrior damsels?
