In celebration of National Opera Week, musicians from the Washington National Opera perform a variety of opera vignettes from Puccini, Mozart, Verdi, Gershwin, and more in partnership with the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts. Enjoy an afternoon of staged selections with narration describing the scenes of love, vengeance, betrayal, passion, deception, monarchy, and lust. Pianist Dr. Lester Green accompanies.

The Coil Project announces open auditions for Stonefish, a new play by Erica Smith, directed by David Dieudonne.

The building is immediately outside the Van Ness metro station (between CVS and Giant). Street parking is available.

Show location and times: Greenbelt Arts Center, 123 Centerway in Greenbelt, MD, January 4, 5, 11, 12, 2019, at 8 pm, and January 6 and 13, 2019, at 2 pm.

Clarissa, wife of a diplomat, is adept at spinning tales of adventure but when a murder takes place in her drawing room she finds live drama much harder to cope with. Desperate to dispose of the body before her husband arrives with an important politician, she enlists the help of her guests. Hilarity ensues when they are interrupted by the arrival of wry detective, Inspector Lord.

Performances run weekends from Friday October 12, 2018 through Sunday November 4, 2018 with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for general admission.
