Description: Join Shakespeare in the Parks for a vibrant 2025 tour of The Comedy of Errors, set during Italy’s lively Carnival season. With masquerades and mistaken identities, this uproarious production brings Shakespeare’s classic farce to life in a whirl of chaos and comedy. Don’t miss the laughter, mischief, and magic of this unforgettable show! Bring your lawn chair, a picnic, and enjoy the Bard under the stars.

Note: The Publick Playhouse is an indoor venue and therefore seating is limited. Doors will open one hour prior to the performance; seating is first come, first served.

2024 Prince George’s Shakespeare in the Parks presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Description: The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Division will be producing Shakespeare in the Parks for 2024. This summer we are thrilled to present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, directed by newly appointed Artistic Director Randy Snight. Love is in the air, but it’s tangled in a romantic web involving four young Athenians. Venture into the mystical woods where fairies stir up a potion that turns the lovers’ world upside down. Get ready for an unforgettable experience of whimsy, wonder, and weddings as the enchanting tale of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” comes to life on stage in this 90-minute production. Bring your lawn chair, a picnic, and enjoy the Bard under the stars.

A Performance by Ally Theatre Company of an original play written by Doug Robinson. Welcome to Sis’s, reimagines the story of Sis’s Tavern in North Brentwood. The play takes place during the 1920-30s and explores the meaning of community, the commonplace, and how it was shaped through racial segregation. Blending the genres of original comedy and drama, and based on historical inspiration, this play presents a unique view of racial inequality, oppression, and segregation right in our own backyard.

Free.

This is the first reading of an original play. The play will be performed at Joe’s Movement Emporium, May 3-5, 2019.
